Teaching Peace and Cultural Understanding in the Classroom

Leadership in building a community of peace: The educator’s role
Purpose:
To help educators of all levels of education, from early childhood education through adult
education to higher education, and all community and social justice advocates to share and
gain skills to help students and community members become peaceful and peace-filled human
beings.
Conference format:
All presentations will be in small groups in the form of poster sessions or mini demonstrations
of teaching methods and activities. Presentations will mainly be in Japanese. However, some
will be in English or will be bi-lingual. Each presentation will be 25 minutes long.
